Full-Time International Food Policy Research Institute Internship Position description The International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI) seeks a Media Engagement Intern to provide crucial support in communicating innovative research on development issues.  IFPRI is a non-profit, apolitical research organization providing evidence-based policy solutions to sustainably reduce poverty, hunger, and malnutrition, and improve welfare across the developing world. The successful candidate will help the media team spotlight and disseminate our best and most salient work through our social media channels, our blog, and our relationships with external news media outlets so that insightful research can inform meaningful policy changes towards realizing our vision of a world free from hunger and poverty.  To achieve these goals, the intern will: draft dynamic content for our website and blog based on our most relevant research and events; generate ideas and content for social media campaigns across various social media platforms; identify journalists across the globe for IFPRI to engage with; regularly track and report on our media presence; and analyze web data to assess the success of specific strategies and campaigns. Excellent writing and analytical skills are a must, as well as an ability to translate academic content for a general audience.  This is an excellent opportunity for anyone interested in learning more about international development, social policy, or how ideas and research can stimulate change. Earth Day Network (EDN) is the world’s largest recruiter to the environmental movement, working with more than 50,000 partners in 196 countries to build environmental democracy. We work through a combination of education, public policy, and consumer campaigns to accomplish our goals.

EDN is looking for qualified candidates with a strong interest and knowledge in current environmental issues and to play a vital role in the follow through of Earth Day’s 2019 Protect Our Species Campaign, the planning and implementation of Earth Day 2020 (Earth Day’s 50th Anniversary!!), and all year-round programming. Interns will work closely with EDN’s staff to gain experience by attending meetings, writing blogs, performing research, and assisting in grassroots outreach. EDN’s Internship Program goal is for the intern to have an intense and high-quality learning experience in a nonprofit environment which will increase their knowledge and experience in the environmental field, bolster their professional resume, and benefit from being a dedicated member of the EDN team.

Specific Responsibilities May Include:
Supporting Earth Day Network in our efforts to connect our global network of grassroots organizations, local authorities, educators, and youth.
Engaging in the day-to-day operations of Earth Day Network, including meetings, correspondence, and events.
Monitoring domestic and international environmental efforts.
Participating in the planning, execution, and promotion of year-round campaigns.
Creating blogs and social media posts to be published on our website and social media accounts.
Assisting in the research, evaluation, and outreach to prospective and current partners.
Contributing to the coordination, resource development, and planning of events, activities, and programs.

Qualifications:
A strong interest in and knowledge of current US and international environmental issues.
Currently enrolled or recently graduated from an undergraduate or master’s degree program
Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs.
Excellent writing and communication skills.
Professional demeanor.
Experience with web and multimedia design and/or development is a plus.
Proficiency in a language other than English is strongly preferred.

Green Powered Technology is seeking a Clean Energy Analyst to engage in a range of assignments supporting the use of clean energy technologies, including renewable energy, energy efficiency, and advanced grid systems. The position is located in the Washington, DC metro area, with occasional travel to client or project sites anticipated.

Responsibilities
· Researching all aspects of project development and financing for proposed clean energy projects
· Preparing, reviewing, and analyzing clean energy project and market reports
· Conducting energy, environmental, and economic benefits analysis of clean energy technologies and projects
· Collecting and analyzing project and program information, and entering and managing data in spreadsheets and models
· Collecting and analyzing statistics and information related to clean energy technology and market trends
· Developing targeted communications (white papers, fact sheets, research summaries, briefings)
· Facilitating project meetings and/or summarizing proceedings
· Providing project management support
· Coordinating with clients and stakeholders
· Contributing to company growth and business development through creating and improving communications products and supporting business capture strategies.

Requirements
· Bachelors Degree from a four-year accredited college or university
· Specific experience pertaining to clean energy technologies and applications:

· Project economic analysis

· Communications for wide ranging audiences
· Eligibility to work in the United States, and obtain security clearance
· Excellent written and verbal communications skills in English
· Proficiency with software tools for research, analysis, reporting, communications, and collaboration

Preferred Qualifications
Ideal candidates for this position will also have:
· Prior experience in developing country energy programs or projects (experience may include work experience, study abroad or volunteer experience with organizations such as Engineers Without Borders)
· Knowledge of overall energy sector challenges, opportunities, and solutions, including environmental issues, emissions mitigation or reduction, climate change adaptation and mitigation, and infrastructure reliability and resiliency
· Advanced degree with a focus relevant to this position
· Fluency in French, Spanish, Arabic, or other language relevant to international development work
