About: Earth Data Incorporated is a field-oriented water resources and geospatial consulting firm
specializing in the collection, analysis, management and distribution of data. The Centreville,
Maryland-based firm has an immediate, full-time opening for a highly-motivated entry level
Duties:
- Collect, analyze, input, and edit field data
- Assist in the preparation of, and edits to, technical reports
- Data compilation, analysis, and visualization
- Assist with ASTM-compliant Phase I Environmental Site Assessments & Phase II
- Investigations
- Assist in well inspections and soil identification
- Conduct sampling activities (including soil, gas, groundwater, surface water)
- Prepare technical and regulatory reports for submittal to clients and state/federal agencies
Required/Preferred Requirements:
- a completed four-year academic degree in Geology/Environmental Science or a closely related technical discipline and superlative oral and written communication skills.
- Coursework requirements include hydrogeology, structural geology, GIS and two or more semesters of chemistry and calculus-based physics.
- Soils, groundwater modeling and geology field camp experience a plus.
This position has the potential to require regular, robust field work. Flexibility, preparedness and
ability to observe, document, and communicate field conditions are a must. This person will
work closely with our staff of geologists, hydrogeologists, engineers, scientists, GIS analysts,
licensed well drillers and inspectors. We offer full potential for advancement into project
management for properly qualified and credentialed individuals.
