Description: F&R is seeking an Environmental Scientist for our Chesapeake, Virginia office. The selected candidate will work in a support role conducting Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments and hazardous materials assessments (i.e., asbestos, mold, lead, etc.).
Duties:
- Conduct mold, indoor air quality, and hazardous materials inspections
- Conduct site assessments (industrial hygiene)
- Soil and groundwater sampling
- Write technical reports and proposals
- Ideal candidate will be involved with client maintenance and business development, proposals and presentations
- Prepare Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments
- Ideal candidate will be involved
- Be willing to participate in occasional overnight travel, night, and/or weekend work
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in relevant scientific discipline
- Some experience in relevant field required (6 months or more)
- Virginia Asbestos Inspector and Lead Inspector Licensing. Additional Licensure is a plus
- Proficiency with standard word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications
- Familiarity with environmental regulations and compliance practices
- Excellent research, writing, organizational, and language skills
- Be a team player who is honest, self-motivated and reliable
- Consulting experience a plus
- IH Licensure a plus
- Valid driver’s license with insurable driving record
- Must be willing to participate in and pass F&R’s pre-employment screening including a background investigation, drug screening and driving record
