Environmental Scientist- Froehling & Robertson Inc.

Location: Chesapeake, VA

Description:  F&R is seeking an Environmental Scientist for our Chesapeake, Virginia office. The selected candidate will work in a support role conducting Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments and hazardous materials assessments (i.e., asbestos, mold, lead, etc.).

Duties: 

  • Conduct mold, indoor air quality, and hazardous materials inspections
  • Conduct site assessments (industrial hygiene)
  • Soil and groundwater sampling
  • Write technical reports and proposals
  • Ideal candidate will be involved with client maintenance and business development, proposals and presentations
  • Prepare Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments
  • Ideal candidate will be involved
  • Be willing to participate in occasional overnight travel, night, and/or weekend work

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant scientific discipline
  • Some experience in relevant field required (6 months or more)
  • Virginia Asbestos Inspector and Lead Inspector Licensing. Additional Licensure is a plus
  • Proficiency with standard word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications
  • Familiarity with environmental regulations and compliance practices
  • Excellent research, writing, organizational, and language skills
  • Be a team player who is honest, self-motivated and reliable
  • Consulting experience a plus
  • IH Licensure a plus
  • Valid driver’s license with insurable driving record
  • Must be willing to participate in and pass F&R’s pre-employment screening including a background investigation, drug screening and driving record
