Hello MANRRS Graduate and Undergraduate Members,
You are invited to participate in the “Taking Nature Black” Conference. Taking Nature Black is a thought-provoking platform for speaker presentations and panels with regional and national environmental leaders featuring discussions of climate change, environmental justice, and environmental joy! ALL students are welcome to participate.
The Taking Nature Black Conference is designed to highlight the role that African Americans have played in supporting the environment through speakers, panels, professional development, and networking opportunities and to build relationships with the regional environmental community. Our theme this event is Climate Change, Environmental Justice and Environmental Joy: Since 1619, African Americans who have made outstanding contributions to helping us understand nature and how to protect the environment will be saluted as Environmental Champions during a special ceremony.
This is a popular conference and will sell out soon. Student participants must reply to this message no later than December 10. To participate you must:
1) include your name, UID, and major in the email
3) write and submit one paragraph stating why you would like to attend “Taking nature Black” and how you could benefit from this event
4) list the MANRRS events and activities in which you have participated and
5) list your dietary restrictions (vegan, vegetarian, etc.)
