The National Park Service is hiring a full-time GS-9 Biotech position to work with the Inventory and Monitoring Program stationed at Mammoth Cave National Park (Kentucky). The employee will primarily be responsible for overseeing summer cave bats monitoring (via nocturnal emergence counts) and administrative/data management elements of the cave bats monitoring program at 4 national park units (in AL, GA, KY, TN and VA). Other activities will include supporting: forest vegetation monitoring, winter cave bats monitoring, cave crickets monitoring, cave aquatic biota monitoring, and other network vital signs monitoring programs. Fieldwork will likely include navigating through woods after sunset; crawling, climbing, and moving through constricted cave passages (vertical caving too); and hiking off trail.
