The Agriculture Future of America Leader Institutes provide undergraduate college students specialized professional development opportunities that focus on professional and peer networking, exclusive company tours, and panels and discussions on relevant industry topics.
AFA currently offers six Institute experiences and competitively selects students for each program. Every Institute provides professional development training and direct exposure to industry professionals and key environments within the given specialty sector.
Once selected to attend an Institute, the only cost to the student is travel. AFA and its partners cover hotel, meals and event material costs.
For more information on each institute, please see below:
Previous UMD participants have described their experiences with the AFA Leader Institutes as extremely valuable in terms of connections made and industry knowledge learned.
If you have questions or would like to know more about what the experience at an AFA Leader Institute would be like, please don’t hesitate to reach out!
Take care,
Casey
