The Natural Resources Planner I is an entry-level position within the Industrial Stormwater Permits Division of the Water and Science Administration’s Wastewater Pollution Prevention & Reclamation Program. Working as part of a collaborative team of planners, the incumbent protects State water resources by managing the lifecycle of individual and general discharge permit applications. This role utilizes a foundational scientific background to review applications and prepare technical fact sheets, public notices, and written responses to public comments. Additionally, the incumbent leverages a customer service background to actively participate in stakeholder meetings, discuss projects with the public, and assist in preparing tentative determinations and judicial review records. Finally, the position supports divisional tracking, targeting, and reporting activities to manage the universe of active applications and identify unpermitted facilities requiring regulatory coverage.
