The Applied Spatial Wildlife Ecology Lab (A-SWEL) in the Environmental Science and Technology Department (ENST) is looking for dedicated individuals to assist a research program starting Spring-Summer 2025. We will be investigating wildlife communities in Montgomery County, Maryland, and the effect that human foot traffic on trails has on their populations. We need interns to assist in wildlife species identification via camera trap analysis. Applicants are expected to work for at least one semester. Preference will be given to individuals who can stay longer, due to multiple wildlife research projects being run in the lab. This position can also serve as class credit when applicable. Work hours will typically consist of 10-15 hours a week in the lab.
Preferred candidate qualifications include:
- Strong computer skills in excel and data organization
- Good time management skills
- Ability to process data independently
