Looking for student with interest/experience in GIS

Hello UMD partners! AWS is doing an inventory of vernal pool habitats of conservation importance --with presence of obligate amphibian/invertebrate species- in the Anacostia watershed. A potential opportunity to use more advanced GIS and Lidar technologies came up through our USGS partners. However, due to the current limited capacity in the federal government, it would be great to have the help of a student with experience with GIS to help USGS and AWS with this project. It would be in the capacity of an internship --unfortunately unpaid- to interface between the GIS modeling (with our USGS partners) and the field validation work. The interested student would have the opportunity to work with AWS in the field.
