The UMD chapter of Minorities In Agriculture, Natural Resources, and Related Sciences will be having its third General Body Meeting (GBM) tomorrow, October 5th from 5pm-6pm on Zoom https://umd.zoom.us/j/
This GMB will feature the Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service of the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA-APHIS). They will be helping us prepare for our cluster competition in mid-October by reviewing resumes, giving interview tips, listening to elevator speeches, and more! Even if you are not registered for our regional cluster, come out to get advice from USDA professionals!
Don't forget that we have several open positions that we are actively looking for! Please let us know if you have any questions or are interested.
- We are looking for someone to serve as the MANRRS representative to the AGNR Dean's Student Advisory Council. This person would inform the Dean about how we can improve AGNR from the standpoint of MANRRS. This is a great opportunity to get leadership experience! Please let us know if you have any questions or are interested!
- We are looking for Chairs and general members for our Fundraising and Events & Outreach Committee. Our Fundraising Committee plans our fundraisers, and the Events & Outreach Committee will plan big events like our Maryland Day event. Let us know if you are interested in either of these committees. This is another great introductory leadership experience and we hope you will join us!
- We are looking for folks to represent MANRRS to the Agricultural Student Council. This Council is made up of AGNR clubs and coordinates college-wide activities. Major activities include a Fall Bash Festival, Ag Day, and the Student Council Awards Banquet.
Please review the last meeting minutes (here) and review the upcoming meeting minutes (here). Please let me know if there are any changes needed. We look forward to seeing you all tomorrow!
