BEAVERCON SCHOLARSHIP

Hello University of Maryland Students,

My name is Mary Beth O’Bryan, I work for Ecotone, Inc., and am on the planning committee for BeaverCON 2020.  BeaverCON 2020 will be a 3-day, international beaver conference for professionals, researchers, and practitioners to learn what works in both beaver conflict management and watershed restoration.  We are thrilled at the wide range of interest we are receiving for this inaugural conference from beaver experts, government agencies, restoration professionals, highway departments, and researchers.  We are anticipating 200 - 400 attendees with extensive social media coverage and other publicity. See www.BeaverCON.org for specific conference information and to review our lineup of international speakers and presenters.

A generous sponsor has offered three scholarships for minorities to attend this conference.  The scholarship is good for the registration price for all three days at the conference.  It is open to all minorities to apply; faculty, staff, graduate students, undergraduate students, etc.  This unique opportunity was created in an effort to foster a diverse and welcoming environment for new ideas and to build a better future for environmental science where everyone is included. Deadline for applications is Friday, January 17th, 2020.  I have attached the scholarship application. We would greatly appreciate it and would love to have some applicants from the University of Maryland for this unique opportunity.

Here is the link to the application. Please download and complete the form. https://www.beavercon.org/minority-scholarship-application.html
