Monica VanKlompenberg is taking a group of Animal Science students on a Maryland Beef tour and she has room for 3 more students (a total of 12 students going on the trip). It is an all-expense paid 3-day excursion where students learn about the beef industry. While the trip is centered on an animal sciences perspective, I think the trip would still be an incredibly valuable experience for any of our students interested in the environmental considerations associated with the beef industry - waste and nutrient management, land use, sustainability, etc. Plus it's just a cool opportunity to see a diversity of Maryland farms from the Eastern Shore to Western Maryland at no expense whatsoever to the student.
