Elevation Greenroofs Maintenance Crew Member

Maintenance Crew Member: We are looking to hire Full-time crew members for our maintenance team. We are a green roofing company who maintains about 70 different properties in D.C., Maryland, and Virginia. Our office is located in Lanham, MD. Requirements: -Must be able to work effectively with your team and supervisors to complete tasks. -Must be able to regularly lift about 50lb -Must have a working vehicle. -Some horticulture and plant knowledge/experience is preferred, however is not required. Job Description: Maintenance tasks include, but are not limited to: Weeding Pruning Planting cuttings/plugs to increase coverage. Replacing dead plants/trees Setting up and maintaining irrigation systems Applying fertilizer, pre-emergent and other pesticides Clearing out drains and other non-vegetated areas Assessing the condition of and fixing damaged green roof components such as metal edging, various types of drainage layers, and tray systems. On occasion there may be a leak in the roof. In this case we are required to remove the green roof media for the roofers to assess the leak and then replace it when they are finished with the repairs. Assessing and investigating any damage found on the green roof sections. The maintenance team also often takes on planting jobs, in which they finish out the planting on newly installed systems. Benefits: • Hourly pay rate of $17.00 • Paid vacation days accrued at rate of 0.04 per hour worked. • 401K retirement plan. • Health Insurance eligibility begins on the first of the month following 60 days of employment. • Eight paid holidays. • Overtime pay at time and a half for any hours over 40 per week. • Reimbursement for mileage at $0.58 per mile • Reimbursement for any job costs such as parking or tools
