Join us for a trip to the Chesapeake Bay Foundation in Annapolis, MD to learn about their mission and the wide variety of opportunities they offer. You will have the opportunity to hear from UMD alumni, scientists, and policy makers doing the work to save the Bay. Learn more about the organization here! Students of all majors are welcome to attend.
---REC Trek: Upper MarlboroFriday, October 911:45 AM - 4:00 PM
Take a trip to the Upper Marlboro Research and Education Center, a part of the Central Maryland Research & Education Center (CMREC)! This trip will allow you to learn about the center’s history, tour the facility and visit the places where important agricultural and environmental research is done.
Any student within AGNR is welcome to attend. Click here to learn more about CMREC and the Upper Marlboro facility.
Research featured may include:
- Agritech: Irrigation management technology, sensors, and drones
- Transgenic tomato studies
- Agroclimatology: Faba bean trials to test viability in the mid-atlantic climate
- Upper Marlboro's place and tobacco's role in Maryland Agricultural History
- Showcasing Terp Farm and growing for the campus community
