Restoration Ecologist (Chicago) - Midwest and Northeast States

Core Mission
The restoration ecologist will assist in the design, implementation, management, and monitoring of our mitigation sites.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop restoration plans for mitigation sites
  • Collect baseline data on potential sites including environmental site assessments, forest inventories, and wetland delineations
  • Oversee the design, construction, and maintenance of mitigation sites
  • Perform field work to achieve performance standards on mitigation sites
  • Manage contractors and consultants performing restoration work on sites
  • Develop monitoring reports at existing mitigation sites
Qualifications - Minimum
  • Bachelor’s Degree (background in Biology, Environmental Science, Ecology, Forestry, or Horticulture preferred)
  • Ability to travel frequently to mitigation sites
  • Understanding of basic ecological restoration techniques
  • Native and invasive plant ID
  • Strong technical writing skills with attention to detail
Qualifications - Preferred
Engineering, consulting, or similar experience
Familiarity with ArcGIS
Experience with herbicide application
