PhD Assistantship (in Wildlife) Opening at Auburn

Description:

The Conservation Governance Lab at Auburn University College of Forestry, Wildlife, and the Environment is looking for a competitive applicant for a PhD student assistantship on invasive wildlife, policy responses, and federal public lands. Using public policy approaches, the student will investigate the relationships between stakeholders, managers, and wildlife in the North American context. Of particular interest is the evolving situation with wild pig management, a species that is considered one of the two most important terrestrial invasive species in North America and causes billions in damages annually to agriculture and the environment. As a collaborative and interdisciplinary project, Dr. Steve Ditchkoff of the Deer Lab will serve on your dissertation committee with Dr. Kelly Dunning. This affords the student mentorship in both wildlife science and public policy, making them very competitive for today’s job market.
