Waste Sort Educators Needed for Maryland Day |
| The Recycling and Solid Waste Unit of Facilities Management will be placing triple-sort waste stations on McKeldin Mall during Maryland Day. Volunteers are needed to help campus visitors properly sort their waste into compost, recycle, and landfill and ensure that the waste collected in these bins is not contaminated with inappropriate items. In order to accomplish this, volunteers will engage in a dialog with the campus visitors to educate them as to which items can be composted, recycled, or trashed on campus. All volunteers will be provided with gloves and MD Day t-shirts. |

University of Maryland Cherry Tree Blossoms |
|
One of our favorite things this semester is the UMD Cherry Tree Blossom Map shared with us by the UMD Arboretum and Botanical Garden. The University of Maryland is a world-class arboretum with over 15,000 woody plant specimens, including the ornamental cherry trees for which the Washington, D.C. area is famous. Take some time to notice these beautiful blooms this spring right here on our own campus. |
