City of Greenbelt Public Works Department - Greenbelt, Maryland
The GIS Intern will work for the City of Greenbelt Department of Public Works to organize, create, manipulate, edit and retrieve GIS data for reporting, analysis and presentation purposes.
DUTIES:
• Create maps and graphs using Esri ArcGIS 10.4 software using the principles of cartography;
• Compare and review field and office mapping data to resolve errors and omissions;
• Enter new map data and digitize historical records and other digital media;
• Develop GIS tools to aid the department in meeting its goals;
• Assist the Environmental Coordinator in developing GIS training for staff.
The GIS Intern will report to the Environmental Coordinator. This is an unpaid 3-month, part-time (5-10 hours/week) position with possibility for extension. The GIS Intern is expected to complete 60-120 hours of service during the term.
