Advertising Request for OPPORTUNITY: Environmental Justice Lecture

On behalf of the Student Government Association (SGA), we would love to invite your group to join us for our inaugural meeting of the Environmental Justice Council (EJC) on December 6th, 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm in the Prince George’s Room of Adele H. Stamp Student Union.

This event will be co-sponsored by the Residence Hall Association (RHA), Omicron Delta Kappa (ODK), and Student Entertainment Events (SEE).

Our speaker will be Dr. Sacoby Wilson, professor of Applied Environmental Health and Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics at the University of Maryland, College Park School of Public Health where he directs the Center for Community Engagement, Environmental Justice, and Health (CEEJH).

Dr. Wilson has over 20 years of experience as an environmental health scientist in exposure science, environmental justice, environmental health disparities, community-based participatory research, water quality analysis, air pollution studies, built environment, industrial animal production, climate change, community resiliency, and sustainability.

By attending this panel, we hope to educate the University of Maryland on the importance of environmental justice, especially as we consider the impact we have on the surrounding community of Prince George’s County.

Please RSVP to let us know if you are coming!
