Immediate Need for on-call/hourly Bat Acoustic Technician
Position Requirements:
Acoustic surveyor must have completed one or more of the available bat acoustic courses/workshops (BCM, Titley/AnaBat, Wildlife Acoustics, USFWS, Vesper, etc.) AND be able to show similar on-the-job or academic experience illustrating proficiency with manually vetting of eastern bats to species. The ability to manually vet search-phase calls for the northern long-eared bat, Indiana bat, gray bat, and Ozark big-eared bat is required. Proficiency with viewing full spectrum .wav files using Wildlife Acoustics Kaleidscope and/or zero cross files using Analook is also required. Must be approved for manual vetting of acoustic surveys by the USFWS or be able to obtain authorization prior to beginning work. Flexible/remote work locations are considered.
