ENST scholarship deadline extended

Scholarship extended to April 11

Please help us spread the word of ENST's annual Scholarship Opportunity. Two unique kinds of scholarships were created by and funded by agricultural engineers many years ago are available to help ENST Ecological Technology Design students:

  • ASABE Washington, DC – Maryland Section Scholarship funded by donations of many agricultural engineers in the local area. It was started in 1975 and gave its first scholarship in 1981. The engineers felt it was their responsibility to assist worthy students with financial need to achieve their education. Environmental stewardship was one of their interests.
  • Robert L. and Frances C. Green Scholarship created by family members. Dr. Green served as Chair of the Department of Agricultural Engineering here at the University of Maryland from 1965 to 1979 and as Acting Director of the Maryland Agricultural Experiment Station from 1972 to 1976. Dr. Green was very involved in soil and water conservation work.

An undergraduate student in their junior year (more than 30 credits left before graduating) in ENST's Ecological Technology Design concentration can apply for a scholarship grant to assist in academic expenses for their final (senior) year. Applicants must be permanent U.S. Citizens and enrolled full-time during Fall 2024 and Spring 2025 semesters. Numbers of recipients and scholarship award amounts may slightly vary with a cap of $2,000. Half of the amount will be deposited into the student's UMD financial account in summer to cover fall tuition and the second half will be deposited later to cover spring tuition.
