Dr. Jones is looking for potential students for the Food Waste Research Internship. (We have also posted it with the University Career Center website, as well as the ELI website employment page: https://www.eli.org/employment )
I am co-leading a 15 month research project starting Sept 1, and am looking for a student intern who could work during the school year for ~15 hrs per week. It would be ideal for a student who is planning to do a senior or Masters research paper or project and is looking for an inter-disciplinary topic related to the circular economy and resource recovery. The student intern will be part of a multi-disciplinary team of researchers (business, law, economics, policy and engineering/technology) developing the business case for the recovery of food waste through anaerobic digestion (AD) at wastewater resource recovery facilities (WRRFs). the topic combines economics, finance, policy (law and regulations), and business – the key question to be resolved is how to get a sector that is not known for technological innovation to shift from waste water mangement to resource recovery. Food waste is part of the story for the sector (the part we are focusing on…)
