Now is the time when the work is piling on – and for many, when stress piles on, too.
Please remember you CAN do something about it – by reflecting on your situation, identifying what you need, and asking for help.

Are you studying enough?
DID YOU KNOW? Increasing your time spent studying is the simplest improvement you can make in your study strategies. Keep in mind that “studying” isn’t just reading a textbook! If it is a lecture or lab-based course, you will find yourself doing a combination of study skills like reading, lab/project work, writing, reviewing notes or even making notes cards. If you are interested in learning new study strategies (which, when used, automatically help you increase your study time), review ourTime Management and Study Skills webpage.
Dropping a Fall 2017 course
University policy allows students to drop one class or 4 credits with a “W.” This means you could drop JAPN101 (6 credits, but one class) or ENGL 212 and KNES 155N (4 credits, but two classes).
- Monday., Nov. 6, 2017 is the deadline to do this – but you can drop earlier if needed. Go to TESTUDO, then click Registration/Drop-Add (FYI- you can drop on your own! No permission is needed unless you intend to drop more than 1 class)
Finally…
If extenuating circumstances (personal health issues, family issues, etc.) are causing difficulty with your academics, please contact me ASAP. There is help available on campus, and academic procedures to be followed, should you need assistance handling the academic consequences of a personal situation. It is better to “strategize” now, while you have options, than to wait and do nothing, hoping the situation will “right” itself.
You will be emailed your 2018 spring registration date/time on October 13th. This is when you want to log into Testudo to register for classes. Try to meet with your ENST Advisor around 1 week before then!
