Description: The Department of Natural Resources, Monitoring and Non-Tidal Assessment Division, is currently accepting applications for a Natural Resources Biologist I.
Duties:
The selected candidate will participate in the planning and implementation of freshwater stream ecological assessments and will serve as a member of a field crew responsible for the collection of data on fishes, benthic macroinvertebrates, herpetofauna, crayfishes, freshwater mussels, physical habitat, water quality, and land use in non-tidal streams and rivers as part of the Maryland Biological Stream Survey. Duties will include field data collections, data analysis and interpretation, and reporting related to the status and distribution of Maryland's aquatic resources.
Requirements:
- A degree in biology, biochemistry, environmental science aquaculture, natural science, natural resources management, botany, marine biology, marine ecology or physical oceanography, ichthyology, fisheries management, wildlife management, zoology, or a natural resources management related field of study from an accredited college or university.
