Environmental Scientist - Entry-Level

Description: RK&K is seeking an entry-level Environmental Scientist to join our busy Ecological Restoration Team in our new office overlooking Baltimore’s Inner Harbor. Our team of over 50 environmental scientists and engineers is a leader in the field of ecological restoration and management with a proven record of innovative, sustainable and cost-effective solutions. Fueled by the compelling requirements and deadlines of the Chesapeake Bay TMDL Program; stream, wetland and forest mitigation regulations; and other regional ecological projects, our team is eagerly searching for talented and dedicated professionals to meet the commitments we are engaged in to clean up the Bay and restore our environment. As an RK&K environmental scientist you will be actively involved in a diversity of wetland and forest delineation, permitting, habitat improvement, ecological restoration, and other environmental projects.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Conduct wetland delineations, forest assessments and other natural resource inventories
  • Prepare documents and environmental permits
  • Interact with clients and regulatory agencies
  • Collaborate with other environmental professionals

Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science or equivalent
  • Undergraduate curriculum that emphasized ecology, botany, and other natural resources disciplines
  • 0 to 5 years relevant experience

Candidates with internship and/or other directly related work experience will be given priority. Experience on linear projects in Maryland, Delaware and Virginia is desired; and forest stand delineation, wetland mitigation design, stream assessment, ecological monitoring, and GIS experience is a plus.
