The Global Ecology Research Group and Wildlife Ecology and Land Management Lab at the University of Florida's Wildlife Ecology and Conservation department are recruiting as master's student to work on a project estimating abundance of Wild Turkey in space and time. The student will focus on aggregating data sources to predict Wild Turkey abundance, and also analyze the impact of the Florida Wildlife Corridor on Wild Turkey populations.
Required qualifications:
- Undergraduate degree in a relevant field, such as ecology, environmental science, or applied mathematics
- Strong quantitative skills
- Experience coding in R
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience with GIS and statistical modeling
Start date: Spring 2024
