Dr. Diann Prosser at the Patuxent Wildlife Research Center is seeking 3-4 highly motivated students to work as interns on a project to monitor the reproductive success of local tern species. Interns will gain valuable hands on experience with capture, banding, and other field techniques. We also anticipate launching a new telemetry project this upcoming season with which interns would have the opportunity to assist.
Interested applicants must be:
- Able to commit to a full-time working schedule from approximately mid May through early August
- Committed to working long hours in adverse weather conditions
- Eager to learn and adapt to unique challenges of field work
- Willing and able to handle wild animals
- Able to work well in a team setting
Interns will be compensated with a stipend of $2,500; however, no additional funding for housing, mileage, or other expenses is available.
