Fall 2021 - Global UNIV100 for International Students

In partnership, Letters and Sciences, International Student & Scholar Services, Maryland English Institute, and Student Orientation and Transition, created two new sections of UNIV100 that will offer shared-experiences between newly admitted international students and those from the U.S. In addition to the usual lessons on diversity and inclusion, transitioning to UMD, student success skills, campus resources, etc., this pilot promotes intercultural exchange and brings students together to share experiences and deepen their understanding of individuals' differences.

The international section will focus on adjusting to American academic life, learning about the values of an American university, and connecting with students from other cultures through in-class and co-curricular engagement.  The other section, for Letters and Sciences students from the U.S., will heavily focus on preparing for future study abroad and global experiences. Complete information can be found at https://ter.ps/globaluniv

The international section (UNIV100, section 0307) is open to newly admitted international freshmen from any majors.
