Emma Whitehead | The Keller Scholarship in Conservation Horticulture Emma Whitehead, 2025 GCA scholar, worked at the San Luis Obispo Botanical Garden in California to maintain, manage, and further develop an ethnobotanical garden created in collaboration with the Northern Chumash Tribe of San Luis Obispo County and Region, and the local utility company, PG&E. This garden aims to serve the community with a new educational space that celebrates Indigenous cultures and the many uses of native plants. The GCA’s Keller Scholarship in Conservation Horticulture provided support for Emma’s project, in collaboration with Botanic Gardens Conservation International-US.
