Job Description
Louis Berger seeks a mid-level Environmental Planner / Scientist in its  office to assist in leading and preparing planning studies and environmental compliance documentation, including Environmental Assessments, Environmental Impact Statements, and other documents in accordance with the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) and other planning and compliance mandates. 
Required Skills

The qualified candidate must be an excellent team player, possess outstanding writing abilities and interpersonal communication skills, and have experience in technical analysis for NEPA or similar compliance documents, managing and producing reports and other documentation, and interacting directly with Federal clients to identify project requirements and milestones. The successful candidate will meet the following criteria:

  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in planning, environmental policy, environmental studies/science, or related fields.
  • Three (3) to seven (7) years of experience in environmental planning consulting, preferably with Federal clients.
  • Working knowledge of federal, state, and local environmental laws and regulations and permitting requirements, including NEPA, ESA, CWA, and other planning and compliance regulations.
  • Willingness to travel 20-25% (within US).
  • Ability to form work products with little management direction to meet specific desired objectives, and to prioritize and handle multiple tasks and projects concurrently.
  • Strong writing, communication, and organization skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; knowledge of GIS, Adobe and SharePoint a plus.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills are a must. (Writing samples may be required and verified).
