UMCES Presidential Fellowship

The University of Maryland Center for Environmental Science (UMCES) will award up to three graduate fellowships to support new Ph.D. students who will matriculate in September 2017. The Presidential Fellowships are merit-based and designed to recruit outstanding students into UMCES graduate programs. Up to three years of stipend, health benefits, and tuition will be covered.
UMCES is Maryland’s premier research institution whose mission is to advance scientific knowledge of the environment. UMCES scientists conduct research at four laboratories: the Appalachian Laboratory in the mountains of western Maryland, the Chesapeake Biological Laboratory on the western shore of Chesapeake Bay, the Horn Point Laboratory on the Eastern Shore, and the Institute of Marine and Environmental Technology in Baltimore. UMCES faculty members advise and support more than 80 graduate students. Doctoral students are enrolled in two Ph.D. programs: Marine-Estuarine-Environmental Sciences (MEES) and the Graduate Program in Life Sciences (GPILS) (see http://www.umces.edu/education/graduate).
