Green Infrastructure on Campus Spring 2020

Description:
Living Canopies is searching for a dedicated intern to assist with light manufacturing and packaging of its Living Umbrellas(tm) for retail sales. Living Canopies is a UMD-based Startup company located on the College Park campus in the Patapsco Bldg. The Living Umbrella is a reimagination of the patio umbrella as a canopy of beautiful flowering plants with an automated irrigation system. Dr. David Tilley and his students in ENST invented the Living Umbrella, which is patent pending.


Duties will include:
  • Unpacking umbrellas
  • Disassembling umbrellas
  • Machining
  • Repackaging
  • Shipping and receiving
  • Writing assembly instructions
Applicants should be comfortable using their hands, lifting 30 lbs, using hand tools such as screwdrivers and wrenches, and being meticulous.

Applicants must be able to work on Saturday or Sunday for a minimum of 4 hours.

Qualifications
