Paid summer undergrad researcher - Univ. of Alaska, Fairbanks

We are recruiting an undergraduate researcher for summer 2020 at the University of Alaska Fairbanks. The student will join a team working with the Bonanza Creek Long-Term Ecological Research Program to study responses of carbon and nitrogen cycling to disturbance (fire and permafrost thaw) in the boreal forest. This is a paid position running May/June through Aug/Sept.

The student will assist with measuring emissions of greenhouse gases and monitoring stream chemistry using instream sensors. The student will also carry out an independent research project focused on biogeochemistry of boreal catchments.

Desired qualifications include a demonstrated interest in ecology; coursework in ecology, chemistry, environmental science, hydrology, and/or statistics; experience working with a collaborative team; interest in field work; and experience collecting and analyzing data.
