Student Service Contract with USGS-Department of the Interior

 U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) Eastern Ecological Science Center (EESC, Eastern Ecological Science Center | U.S. Geological Survey (usgs.gov)) is seeking five part time student service contractors to assist with administrative and project management support tasks for 10h per week within various science teams focused on ecological research. The contract would be for 1 to 2 years depending on performance and funding availability. The student could work at any of three locations (Laurel, MD; Kearneysville, WV; and Turners Falls, MA). Remote working may be considered. The USGS places a high value on diversity of experience and cultural perspectives and encourages applications from all interested eligible candidates. The scientists at EESC strive to address some of the most pressing conservation and management. The students would assist with any of the following:

•     Administrative support and tasks, for example, but not limited to:

o     Processing paperwork; organizing files in folders.

o     Entering information and data in applications managed by USGS.

•     Formatting and processing of, for example, but not limited to:

o     Manuscripts; data releases, study plans; grant applications.

o     Website development.

Compensation is commensurate with the level of education and experience, will be from $17.61 and $22.11 per hour. This could be an opportunity for your students to gain experience working with a team of research scientists within the federal government in the context of environmental research.
