UMD UROC summer 2023 internship program
Best consideration date is March 13, 2023.
We plan to make our selections in early April, selecting projects and candidates judiciously based on research interest. Students from any accredited university or community college are eligible and welcome to apply!
Four application submissions are required, to myself Sara Lloyd at sjlloyd@umd.edu
- a resume
- a short description of the intended project
- an endorsement (letter, email, etc) from an academic mentor who will advise on the project
- a proposed budget
A couple of key takeaways:
- These PAID full-time positions are located in southern Maryland at our 12,000 sq ft research hangar at St. Mary's County Airport, just a few miles from Naval Air Station Patuxent River
- Positions may be continued part-time into academic year at home institution
- This year, partially subsidized housing is available approximately 15 minutes away at Home 2 Suites Lexington Park. This will be 2 students per room with kitchenette at $175.00 per week per student.
- Project must fly (or try!) by the end of the summer; we are a flight operations center!
- Interns must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents due to ITAR equipment in use
