Position Summary/Purpose of Position: The Institute of Applied Agriculture (IAA) invites applications

for 9-month Oral Communication Lecturer position, to teach an oral communication course to

undergraduate students at the University of Maryland, College Park. This is a Professional -Track, 9-

month faculty appointment that may be renewed. Continuing appointment will be based on

performance and enrollment.

Qualifications:

Required–

 Master's degree in Communication, Speech Communication, Agricultural Communication &

Leadership, or closely related field.

 2 years teaching experience, preferably at the post-secondary level.

 The key person will demonstrate excellence in teaching.



Responsibilities:

 Teach 5 sections of INAG 110: Oral Communication, each spring and fall semester.

 Participate in department decision-making, strategic planning, promotion and recruitment.

 Continuous curriculum development and updating to instructional materials and integration of

assessment activities into teaching practices.

 Work as part of the Oral Communication teaching team and contribute to the scholarship and

enhancement of the course and department.
