Junior Estimator
Position Description
Position Description
The Junior Estimator
serves as a member of the estimating team at an entry-level and assists the
staff in preparation of bids. Work includes material quantity takeoffs,
earthworks calculation and analysis, vendor and subcontractor communication,
review and reporting on bid documents, bid searches, and various other data
organization and retrieval activities. The junior estimator will interact with
estimators, project management, clients, contractors, and other personnel, and
will occasionally be required to represent EQR at meetings and site visits
Visiting current and
potential project sites may be necessary. Travel will occur primarily in
Maryland, Delaware and Virginia.
Job Requirements

A minimum of 1-2 years
of construction or estimating experience is preferred, but not required. A
Bachelor's Degree, preferably in a scientific discipline; must have at least a
high school diploma. Excellent organization and communication skills, and
attention to detail. Ability to work effectively under pressure, and adapt to
constantly changing priorities. Ability to manage multiple assignments with
variable deadlines with good time management skills. Proficient in Microsoft
Office, experience with bidding software Bid2Win preferred. Must have
experience with understanding and evaluating construction plans and
specifications.

Must have valid
driver’s license and a reliable form of transportation to remote sites.

Position will be based at our headquarters in Millersville, MD.
