Visiting Assistant Professor in Oceanography
The Williams-Mystic Maritime Studies Program in Mystic, Connecticut invites applications for a full-time visiting assistant professor to teach oceanography, supervise independent student research, and participate in 3 multi-day field seminars (offshore sailing cruise and field seminars to the Pacific and Gulf of Mexico coasts) in each of two semesters.  Our coastal campus includes a state of the art marine science center. We are seeking a scientist and educator with collaborative and interdisciplinary interests for a one-year sabbatical replacement from July 1, 2017 to June 30, 2018.
Williams-Mystic (mystic.williams.edu) is a selective off-campus program of Williams College located at Mystic Seaport, with approx. 20 students each semester from many different colleges. The mission of Williams-Mystic is to empower global, creative citizens while cultivating an enduring relationship with the sea. We create an open-minded, interdisciplinary academic community through experiential learning at Mystic Seaport, along the coasts of America, and on the ocean. Students of all majors study the history, literature, policy and science of the ocean, focusing on the environment and sustainability.

PhD or ABD and teaching experience preferred.
