Spring/Summer Internship in Comprehensive Planning

Graduate Student: $16 - $17.60 
Undergraduate Student: $14 - $15.50
(Salary Commensurate with Experience)

The Baltimore City Department of Planning has up to two internship opportunities for 2018. They will be in either the Comprehensive Planning or Sustainability Division.  The opportunities are outlined below.
 
Community Outreach and Marketing Strategy –Help us identify secondary outreach methods for our community groups – in many cases we are not able to flyer surrounding blocks – but perhaps in conjunction with non-profits, religious institutions and other agencies such as Rec and Parks, Health, and DPW, as well as social service organizations who provide extensive outreach efforts, we could understand their methods for outreach and perhaps share/compile contact information in a database.  Assist one or two less organized groups to develop an outreach strategy for that organization and a marketing package for its association.
 
Selection Process
The Department of Planning will review applications/resume and select candidates for interviews.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Students currently enrolled in an accredited educational institution pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in  urban or regional planning, sustainability or environment studies, historic preservation, architecture, architectural history, nutrition, public administration, public health or a closely related field 
  • Students with a minimum overall GPA of 3.0.
  • Undergraduate students must be in their junior or senior year.
