To qualify, candidates must be enrolled students or individuals who have been accepted for enrollment seeking a diploma, certificate, bachelor’s degree, graduate degree, or professional degree from a qualifying educational institution on a full- or half-time basis, including awardees of the Harry S. Truman Foundation Scholarship Program.
To qualify for the GS-05 level, students need to have completed four academic years of post-high school leading to a bachelor’s degree or equivalent degree.
To qualify for the GS-07 level, students need to have completed one full academic year of graduate level education; or a bachelor’s degree with superior academic achievement (Superior Academic Achievement Definition).
These positions are not eligible for remote work; interns must report to the duty station to which they have applied.
Qualified veterans receive hiring preference.
Upon successful completion of the program (320 – 640 hours), students may be eligible for non-competitive conversion to permanent positions in the competitive service.
