There are three paid internship positions available with the National Park Service. Interns will work closely with the NPS Urban Ecology Research Learning Alliance’s Science Education Coordinator. Students must be enrolled in a degree program at the University of Maryland.
- Science Lesson Plans (In-person & Virtual) Internship (deadline for applications May 5 at 5pm).They are seeking a graduate student or an upper-level undergraduate student with interest in Informal and/or Formal Science Education, Interactive Educational Settings, Developing Science Education Methods, and/or related fields. The intern will evaluate, update, and present existing lesson plans for President’s Park and the White House Visitor Center educational program.
- Forest Ecological Services (Hybrid) Internship - Ecologist (deadline for applications May 15 ay 5pm). They are seeking a graduate student or an upper-level undergraduate student with interest in Geographic Information Systems, Land Use Mapping, or similar to work as part of a team to evaluate NPS data and publications to identify potential sources of ecosystems services conferring human wellbeing.
