Career Shuttle: Glenstone Museum (in person career field trip to Potomac, MD) Friday, October 13, 8:30 am- 1 pm RSVP here (via Handshake): https://go.umd.edu/gmf23
Glenstone Museum is a place that seeks to seamlessly integrate art, architecture, and nature. Founded in 2006, Glenstone is home to a large collection of post-World War II artworks that help us better understand the 20th and 21st centuries. Glenstone employs a good number of Terp alumni, who are excited to share more about their career paths with you. Throughout the year, Glenstone has a variety of full-time, part-time and internship opportunities available. You can learn more here. Seniors may be particularly interested in the Emerging Professionals Program. You can learn more about that program here: https://www.glenstone.org/the-emerging-professionals-program-at-glenstone-museum-2/
During our visit, we will explore the grounds at our own pace for about an hour. Then, during the second hour, we will hear from a panel of Terp alumni on staff about their career paths, open opportunities at Glenstone, and the Emerging Professionals Program. Students of all majors (undergraduate & graduate) are welcome to attend. Space is limited. Once the vans are full, you will be added to our waiting list and notified if a spot opens up. Please note, due to the limited space and the expected high demand for this trip, we will be enforcing our "no show" policy. If you find you cannot attend this event, please contact Kate Juhl at kjuhl@umd.edu. If you fail to attend this event, we will charge your student account $25 to recover some of our lost costs.
On Friday, October 13 we will meet promptly in the University Career Center (3100 Hornbake Library, South Wing) at 8:30 am. All participants will sign a waiver form. If you are under the age of 18, please notify us ahead of time. We will travel by van to Glenstone in Potomac, MD. Our visit will last from roughly 10 am- 12 noon. Depending on traffic, we plan to return to campus around 1 pm. Please reach out to Kate Juhl with questions at kjuhl@umd.edu
