Hello everyone!
🌎 We are the Sustainable Ocean Alliance at UMD, College Park. We are an environmental advocacy and stewardship organization that volunteers weekly to clean up litter around the Paint Branch stream (near Looneys and Baltimore Avenue).
♻️ We are looking for organizations who are interested in joining our litter clean-ups to protect our local waterways and wildlife. Last year we collaborated with 20+ organizations to collect a total of 67 bags of trash, 49 bags of recycling, 11 bags of compost, and 15 bags of glass! We're excited to crush all of these numbers this fall with your help!
🐋 If you are interested, please use this link to sign-up! Write your organization's name and leader under the date that your organization is available. Please provide your contact information and any notes you would like to leave us.
🪼 We meet on Sundays from 11 a.m. - 12 p.m. at the Iribe Overhang. If you have trouble finding us, please feel free to contact the SOA leader for that week. We provide all materials including trash bags, recycle bags, and gloves. We also make an Instagram post for every cleanup so if you would like to use our post on your socials just email or DM us! You can also check out our past clean-ups on our Instagram @soaumd.
