Climate Change Intern (Arlington, VA)

Climate Change Intern
Conservation International
Arlington, VA
Description:
Conservation International (CI) seeks to increase global investment in nature-based solutions for climate change mitigation and adaptation (Ecosystem-based adaptation, REDD+, and Blue Carbon). One barrier for scaling up investments in those solutions is the challenge of measuring their non-greenhouse gas benefits. Though the non-emissions benefits of these activities can be significant, they are complex and multi-dimensional. The challenge of knowing what to measure, and the lack of standardization of ways to measure important adaptation, biodiversity, and other benefits is an obstacle for the public and private funders who are interested in supporting Nature-based solutions that generate multiple benefits.
CI is developing a standardized set of indicators and monitoring guidelines that will help donors, the private sector, policy makers, and practitioners to measure the effectiveness of their investments in nature-based solutions for climate change and seeks an intern to support various aspects of this project.

  • Assist in the development of a typology to categorize nature-based climate change interventions and outcomes
