National Environmental Education Week - Begins 4/23/18

Events for National Environmental Education Week starting on 4/23/18:

NBA Green Energy All-Star Campaign

NEEF is proud to partner with the NBA again this year on its NBA Green Energy All-Star engagement campaign. The effort—which kicks off today and runs through the next two weeks—aims to promote greater fan engagement around saving energy while motivating fans to take action in their daily lives. The campaign shows how collective environmental actions—even small steps—when taken together as a team can create large-scale impact.

National Aquarium BioBlitz

To cap off EE Week, NEEF is joining the National Aquarium, the Greater Baltimore Wilderness Coalition, and the Baltimore City Department of Recreation and Parks on April 28 to host a BioBlitz. The event is part of the City Nature Challenge, a global citizen science project organized by the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County and the California Academy of Sciences set to take place that weekend in more than 60 cities throughout the globe. In Baltimore, environmental learners young and old will head to a park in the Gwynns Falls neighborhood and identify as many species as possible as they work together to count the plants, animals, fungi, and other organisms in the urban park. Experts will be on hand to describe the different species and how they work together to impact the ecosystem and our own health.
