The National Parks Service is advertising a full-time Student Trainee position for becoming a Park Ranger.
Positions are temporary with mixed work schedules based on student's schedule and the needs of the agency. Work may be part-time or full-time. These positions are year round, students must continue to be enrolled in school the duration of the appointment to retain eligibility.
Responsibilities:
- Provide pre-established talks normally following a prescribed outline and requiring applications of broad subject matter knowledge.
- Answer a variety of visitor questions which usually require use of a limited variety of facts, events, circumstances, personalities, and natural characteristics.
- Guides parties of large size in situations where the physical limitations of the area or facility being explained make it di??icult to accommodate the party.
- Provide a wide range of services to visitors such as assistance with lost articles, car trouble, and first aid.
- Provides information about weather conditions, highway routes, park and concessionaire facilities and prices.
Salary:
$37,113 to $48,249 per year
