ECO’s apprenticeships present an immersive, hands-on opportunity to learn about sustainable urban agriculture by working directly with experienced farm staff. Hands on work is supplemented by readings, lectures, and group discussion in a classroom setting.
What to expect: Apprenticeships are for those who are dedicated to coming to the farm in all weather to get real-hands farm experience. The Fall/Winter session is 10 weeks, starting October 15th through December 21. It is a weekly 6-hour min commitment (one pre-scheduled 3-hour group session and one individually scheduled work shift). Morning shifts are 9am to 12pm, afternoon shifts are 1pm to 4pm.
Apprentices have access to produce and other educational opportunities at ECO and will have the chance to work on an independent study project on the farm.
How to Apply: If you’re interested in apprenticing at ECO, just fill out the application! The application deadline for fall/winter is Friday, September 28th, 2018.
