The US Department of State's
Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship enables students to study or intern abroad, providing them with critical skills to succeed in the 21st century workforce. The Gilman program aims to diversify the kinds of students who study and intern abroad and the countries and regions where they go by providing up to $5,000 to US undergraduate students of limited financial means to participate in credit-bearing study abroad or international internship programs.
Students applying for any academic term must meet the following eligibility requirements:
- US citienship
- Undergraduate student in good academic standing
- Federal Pell Grant Recipient
- Student in process of applying (or currently accepted) to a study abroad or internship program.
- Student applying to for a program in an eligible country, according to US Department of State guidance
