Eco‐Tech Consultants, Inc. is seeking a highly motivated project ecologist (bat emphasis) to add to its diverse, dynamic team of professionals. Successful candidates will work directly with the senior ecologists to develop research plans, supervise field crews, and complete reports/deliverables for a wide range of regulatory, design, planning, and conservation projects throughout the Eastern U.S. Qualified candidates will be considered for senior positions and additional opportunities will be available to implement management, leadership, and project development skills across all Eco‐Tech service groups.
Duties:
Special emphasis will be placed on the ability to lead bat mist netting survey teams completing projects related to:
- Summer mist netting
- Winter hibernacula surveys
- Full spectrum acoustic monitoring & analysis
- Telemetry studies
- Migration tracking
- Population modeling
- Habitat Assessments
Qualifications:
- Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in biology, ecology, or closely related field is required.
- 3‐10 years of professional experience in related positions.
- Must either currently possess a valid federal permit (preferred) for listed eastern bat species or have qualifications easily enabling permits to be obtained.
- Forested habitat assessment and strong knowledge of local flora and fauna.
- Operation of GIS field surveying and preparation of GIS mapping projects.
- Strong communication and team cooperation abilities.
- Availability to travel for extended periods.
- Physical ability to perform duties in the field under strenuous and adverse conditions.
- Applicant must possess a valid driver's license and may be required to pass drug and/or alcohol tests as needed
Compensation:
