Senior Natural Resources Specialist- Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission (M-NCPPC)

Location: Germantown, MD

Description: The Maryland National Capital Park and Planning Commission, Department of Parks, Montgomery County is seeking to fill a full-time career position (40 hours per week) to support Natural Resources Stewardship on County Parkland. Under supervision of the Department's Natural Resources Manager, the incumbent will conduct and/or coordinate inventory and monitoring of flora, fauna, and habitat resources; this employee will work with staff, established conservation groups, trained volunteers, and citizen scientists. The incumbent will provide technical resource management direction and guidance and may generate and/or assist in the generation of management plans. They will maintain detailed records, reports, and maps for use of staff. This position may require occasional weekend and evening work.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in natural resource management, environmental science, forestry, wildlife management, or related field; and
  • Three years of progressively responsible experience; or
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Valid drivers license or ability to acquire one
